Shearing is happening on many sheep farms around the country. Shearing is one of the first steps in getting ready for the lambing season to come. There are many health and stress reasons to have the ewes sheared 2 – 4 weeks prior to lambing. In the picture: the “Shearer” is almost finished with this ewe, and the “Tipper” has the next ewe rumped and waiting. He will then bag the wool fleece.
Stay tuned as our Spring Workshop will be focused on Wool!
